Lifetimes can be measured using frequency domain or time domain fluorescence. Frequency domain include scanning systems or multi frequency systems, usually limited to the visible domain, while TCSPC (Time Correlated Single Photon Counting) is a time domain technique useable from the near UV to the NIR.
